We Buy Surplus

Job got cancelled and the gear is still on the pallet? Panel room came out during a retrofit? Back room full of equipment nobody wants to deal with?

We buy that.

Call or text 971-472-4184 and we'll get in touch about what it's worth.

What we buy

  • Circuit breakers, plug-on and bolt-on through molded case and low voltage power
  • Load centers, panelboards, switchboards, and meter centers
  • Safety switches, disconnects, and fusible switches
  • Motor control: starters, contactors, MCC buckets, and bus plugs
  • Transformers
  • Solar: inverters, optimizers, rapid shutdown devices, and racking
  • PLCs, drives, and industrial control gear
  • Enclosures, lug kits, and unused accessories

New, new in box, and previously installed all work. Cancelled job overstock is ideal, but equipment pulled in working order is just as welcome.

What we don't buy

Saying this up front saves us both a phone call:

  • Residential grade devices. Receptacles, switches, wall plates.
  • Anything with burn damage, arc pitting, or water and rodent damage
  • Equipment with the nameplate missing or unreadable. If we can't identify it, we can't sell it.
  • Recalled equipment, including Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco
  • Loose wire and cable. We aren't a scrap yard, and a scrap dealer will pay you more for copper than we can.

How it works

  1. Call or text us. 971-472-4184. Tell us roughly what you have and where it is. That first conversation is usually short, and it tells us straight away whether it's something we can use.
  2. Send photos if you have them. Not required, but they help. Get the nameplate in the shot, because that is the part we actually need, and a wide shot of the pallet helps us judge quantity before we drive out.
  3. We set up a time to come look. We come to you, at your convenience. Seeing equipment in person is how you get a real number instead of a hedged one, and it means we can spot the pieces worth more than you'd expect.
  4. We make you a cash offer. On the spot, once we've seen it. No consignment, no waiting to find out whether it sold, and no obligation if the number isn't for you.
  5. We load it and you get paid. Usually the same visit. We handle the lifting and the transport, and we leave the space clear.

Outside the Portland area

We collect anywhere in the Portland metro and most of the Willamette Valley. Further out than that, send photos and part numbers and we'll work from those. For a lot large enough to be worth it we arrange freight, and that comes out of our side.

What helps us move fast

  • Part numbers off the nameplate
  • Quantity, even a rough count
  • Condition: new in box, unused, or pulled from service
  • Where it is, and whether it's palletized or loose

You don't need all of it. One phone call is enough to start.

Why sell it instead of scrapping it

Scrap pays you for the metal. We pay for the equipment, which is worth considerably more when it still works and somebody needs that exact part number.

A 200A meter main in good condition is worth real money to the contractor who needs one on Monday. In a scrap bin it's worth its weight in steel and copper. That gap is the whole reason this business exists, and it's also why perfectly good gear should not end up in a landfill.
